R&I Aviation programs synergies
AREANA WP1 forms an indispensable part of the AREANA Horizon Europe project, which addresses the call for "Aviation research synergies between Horizon Europe, AZEA and National programs". By providing advanced novel approaches, the AREANA project will help sustain and foster the European aviation research ecosystem, thus help to achieve Europe’s 2050 environmental goals while ensuring European competitiveness. This will be accomplished by connecting and aligning different funding mechanisms, bringing together aviation stakeholders during the Aerodays 2025, and supporting the Alliance for Zero Emission Aviation.
AREANA WP1: “R&I Aviation programs synergies”, focuses on coordinating and supporting synergies between European, National and Regional R&I aviation programs, while also considering the available research infrastructure. It also aims at facilitating joint calls or other co-funding mechanisms that align EU, National and Regional activities in specific fields, and accelerate the update and sharing of aviation technology infrastructures in the European Research Area. Various small-scale, quickly implementable methods and tools are developed to reach this goal. This will accelerate the transition to carbon-neutral aviation in line with the European Vision and Flight Path 2050.
