The second part of the AREANA International Research Cooperation Option Development Workshop took place in Brussels from June 10th to 12th.
7 Members of the AREANA team came together to develop suitable options for improved international cooperation in European aviation research. Building on the results of the first part of the workshop on June 6th at the ILA in Berlin, a total of 30 possible options were described and classified. The basis for further prioritization of the options developed was, among other things, the results of a survey conducted among relevant stakeholders on the expectations of possible funding instruments.
As part of the selection process, 7 proposals were then selected, which will now be further developed into concrete solution proposals in the next few months. In two further feedback rounds, the options that are considered attractive by both the potential funding recipients and assessed as suitable by the funding bodies will then be selected. Finally, the practical implementation of the selected solutions will be initiated as part of the last project phase in the second half of 2025.
