The AREANA project is pleased to announce the publication of The Synergy Booklet: Advancing the European Aviation Research Ecosystem towards a Sustainable Future, which serves as the legacy pack of the AREANA Synergies segment.
Developed within the framework of the EU-funded AREANA project, the booklet consolidates the key results, methodologies, and tools created to enhance coordination and cooperation across European aviation research and innovation. It documents the project’s work in addressing fragmentation between national, regional, and European programmes through practical cooperation models, innovative joint and joinED call concepts, and structured alignment of research priorities.
The Synergy Booklet also highlights the establishment of sustainable governance and implementation mechanisms, including the AREANA Synergy Memorandum of Understanding Group (ASMG), designed to ensure continuity and long-term impact beyond the project’s duration.
By presenting concrete examples, pilot actions, and policy-relevant insights, the publication provides a valuable reference for funding bodies, policymakers, researchers, and industry stakeholders.
As a legacy publication, the Synergy Booklet reflects AREANA’s contribution to strengthening the European aviation research ecosystem in line with the objectives of the EU Green Deal and Fit for 55, supporting a more connected, competitive, and sustainable future for aviation research in Europe and beyond.
